Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: At the end of Tower Road in Pittsburg. Magalloway Road is in good shape, but Tower Road is rougher with one small washout near the start. Still, it's in much better shape than last time I was here, where I had to deal with several exposed culverts. It's passable by any car with care and slow speeds. One short stretch of the road is very narrow and brushy, with room for only one vehicle at a time.

Comments
Comments: Another visit to this remote fire tower peak and northernmost 52WAV peak, up Coot and down Bobcat. A crystal clear day with views forever from the tower and atop the cliffs.

On the way down, I attempted two different routes to bushwhack over to the west peak, but the forest had more fight than I did. I first followed BT down to where it swings off the ridge and I continued along the ridge, but soon encountered thick woods. I returned to the trail and descended further to an area that looked more open, but quickly encountered boggy, swampy ground and shoulder-high hobblebush. That was enough of that. ;)

Returning to the trailhead, it was packed, with (mostly) trucks parked up and down the road. I guess everyone wasn't in the Whites!
