Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues on any of the crossings, despite constant rain in the area the day before.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No blowdowns. The climb up to the south peak along the HLT is very eroded due to the grade. There are rock steps here, but they are buried in gravel and scree in places. Footing is loose and slippery. The herd path to the "bathroom" near the summit is very well-defined.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure. We had Sammie with us and tuckered him out good. :) Lots of water along the way.
Bugs
Bugs: Nope.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: Flags on the 48, group of five. We got the flag up above the trees and flew it for the full two hours. Someone sent photos showing it could be seen from Carrigain. Hikers coming through said it was clearly visible from North Hancock. Lots of folks passing through yesterday, some for the event, others for peakbagging. We were buzzed twice by the chopper.

Trails were mostly wet from the previous day's rain, with areas of mud. The relocation along CBT was the muddiest. Thankfully the forecast turned around wonderfully. We were prepared for a cold, rainy day, but it turned out to be a cool, sunny day, with very little wind. One very light shower just as we got back to the trailhead.
