Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Both of the major stream crossings on the Basin-Cascades Trail were very manageable with the water running lower than normal. Easy rock hops on each.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A large tree was split in half at top and hanging precariously over the Basin-Cascades Trail just before the first brook crossing after going up past Kinsman Falls. Not much is keeping it up and it soon may tumble onto the trail becoming quite the obstacle.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My pup had a blast! Water options galore!

Comments
Comments: Beautiful, less used route up to Lonesome Lake, but my personal favorite. Basin-Cascades Trail started mostly dry until crossing after Kinsman Falls, then a little wetter, muddier with slick rocks up to Rocky Glen Falls. Cascade Brook Trail up to lake was mostly dry.
