Comments: Day 2 of an overnight hike...

After waking up at the Isolation campsite I headed back up to the Isolation summit and was greeted with stunning and clear views, sharing the peak with only two others who had also camped in the area. I guess this is a good way to beat the crowds :) Then continuing south I headed up the Davis spur for more of the same except in complete solitude. Despite what some maps show there is no path leading to the high point - at least that I could find. At Stairs there were two folks already there who left shortly thereafter - I managed to get a very brief nap in before another person came by. Further descending Davis Path I took Stairs Col Trail to Rocky Branch Trail and back to the car.

For the most part this section of Davis Path has good footing, save for the stretch south of Stairs. As mentioned above Davis Path between Isolation and Stairs is brushy in some spots but usually it ends by the count of five so you can go back to enjoying the trail. It puts the 'wild' in Wilderness which I personally enjoy. For water there were a few small and stagnant puddles and a couple of VERY light trickles along the way. On Stairs Col Trail leaves are starting to come down which may begin to make things difficult on the upper steeper portion soon.

Wonderful weather made for excellent views and lots of pics on this trek though water had to be managed accordingly. I only saw nine other people the entire day. A fun loop and a great weekend!
