Date of Hike: Sunday, September 24, 2017
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at Starr King Rd parking lot at the trail head. The dirt road is rather bumpy, especially just before the parking lot. I was able to maneuver my Honda Civic around the bumps to avoid damage to my car, but it was a little tricky. Low cars may not be able to pass, but there is parking back on Rt 2.

Comments
Comments: Hiked from Starr King trailhead up to Mt. Starr King and over to Mt. Waumbek, and back down the same way. The trail, while not technical, does feel as though it just keeps climbing without much relief. This day was also quite hot and humid for late September (high of 88F), which probably didn't help. Views near Starr King summit out to the Presidential Range, as well as just past the summit of Mt. Waumbek. Trail between Starr King and Waumbek seemed to go by quickly. Our round-trip hike was around 5 hours, with breaks. Trail had no major issues. Leaves have not peaked yet, but there were some colors.
