Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We spotted a few cars at the Marlboro trailhead then drove around to the Old Toll Road trailhead. The Class VI portion of Shaker Farm Road is passable by regular cars with care and by going very slow. There are a few rocks sticking up to watch out for. There's also a large puddle filling the road. While wide, it's not deep. One minor area of mud. High clearance won't have any issues on this road. The road was improved last winter by the Forest Society for a timber harvest and will be again for another. Fee still being collected at Old Toll Road.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nothing major or note, but water everywhere on the mountain right now after the monsoon. I've never seen Monadnock this wet.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Running and standing water on all trails. The steep gully on WAT just before treeline is a stream. No blowdowns. Just water. Lots of water.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure, if they like rugged terrain.
Bugs
Bugs: Nope.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: Great day for this short but very rugged traverse with lots of scrambling. Up White Arrow and down Marlboro.

As mentioned, lots and lots of water on these trails right now. Drainages and small waterfalls which are normally dry are flowing. Once above treeline, things are drier. No issues on the scrambles on WAT. Chilly and windy at the summit but we were able to snag the cellar to hunker down in.

Pockets of deep water along the ridge descending to Jim's Junction. Marlboro is a mix of dry and wet ledge above treeline. Some ledges are slick, use caution as one of our group took a tumble. In the woods, a mix of dry and wet ground with leaf cover and acorns thrown in for extra challenge.

Manageable crowds today, but still a good amount of people for a Friday on this usually busy peak.
