10:00 arrival had us outside the lot; room for a few here. Pulloff a short way to the west on Kanc with spots for a few more. |

I used garbage bag method (unsuccessful experiment for later season crossings), shoes off on one and rock hopping for rest. Emerel rock hopped with water proof shoes. Poles very helpful for balance. Others seen crossing either took shoes off and saw some wet feet with the higher water levels today. Doable but very easy to get feet a little wet. |

Blowdown a short way in on the Hancock Notch Tr.. Some waterbars not functioning on way up to loop jct.. As mentioned in several other reports the erosion on the steeps of the loop trail is quite significant but also a very difficult section to maintain due to the steepness. The trail work in recent years greatly appreciated; Thank You maintainers! |

Many hikers out today. Trails actually drier than we expected. Some wet sections; most notably that heading up to the loop split where there was running water on trail. Low spot before heading up North Hancock had a rock hop crossing with a small pond just below. Don't recall water ever being in here before. Nice Hancock day with great views, wind on a mostly sheltered route and doable crossings with recent rain. Thanks Emerel for the company. |
