Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Luckily Ammo faired ok. From TH to Gem pool I was able to remove about 8 trees and limbed quite a few others. There are still 5 very large trees that my hand saw wasn't enough for. 3 are down the center of the trail while 2 are widow makers. The ravine from the TH to the Gem pool is now split into to bodies of water with massive tree carniage. Again the trail was spared with only two major washouts that will require rerouting in the spring. The log bridge still stood but underneath is really starting to eroid. It will need some strenthing in order too hold another major storm. There are three water bar stairs that are eroided out and will need to be repaired. Above the Gem pool received no damage or major blowdowns. I limbed up two leaners together just past the second fall. Again my hand saw just too small. This super storm was way more destructive than Irene.

Comments
Comments: Put on spikes from above tree line to monroe loop juction sign. Ice is forming nicely in the higher summits :) . Be careful out there folks. Between the downed trees, loose rocks and erosion. It will make for an interesting winter season for sure!!
