Comments
Comments: Well, trip didn’t go at all as planned but it was a killer day out there. The plan was up the Wildcat Range Trail to A and back. Given the start and sunset, I went up Lost Pond to avoid the river crossing at the start of Wildcat Range Trail (and a car move if it was too high). Lost Pond was wet and a muddy pain. Wildcat Range was also very wet. I have never hiked this. It is steep and relentless! The whole way more or less. Got to D and took in the view. Carried on with the hope that the ridge would be easier and faster. It was easier, but not enough to get a pace to make up for the trip to D. Wet, scramble-y. Did the math and there wasn’t enough daylight. Turned back and took the Polecat ski trail down - easy. But, what a great day nonetheless.
