Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water levels low enough that we crossed on rocks easily
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Bog bridges at beaver pond near Goose Pond Road: half their boards are broken. ~ 20' flowing water at S. end of bridges, needs another bridge or better ditching. White blazes in excellent condition, as are blue blazes down to Trapper John shelter. All existing drains clogged with leaves, maybe the custom is to clean drains in Spring as I have seen worse clogging on non-DOC trails. Plenty of places for new steps and waterbars. Also, on south-facing slope above beaver ponds are long stretches in need of sidehill revetting and rock stairs, the steep slope the trail traverses is not holding it very well anymore. Trail seemed recently brushed, had good clearances for backpackers.
