| Comments: |
About 2-3" of new snow in the lower elevations, decreasing in the evergreens (as little as a quarter inch in a few places, but also some 6" drifts). Lots of random black and blue ice lurking underneath, as well as slippery leaves. Some rock and ledges were melting in the sun, as well as some leafy areas. Light traction helpful above the first viewpoint, but the sticky snow below there negated their usefulness. Saw some huge bear tracks crossing the trail on the ridge. |
