| Comments: |
A beautiful hike with snow caking the trees from bottom to top. Anne L. and I laid down a decent snowshoe track, breaking anywhere from six to eighteen inches of new snow, with the deeper amounts on the ridge. However, trail conditions are not ideal yet. The new snow is unconsolidated, so we were often catching our snowshoes on unseen rocks, slowing our descent with a couple stumbles. We could have used spikes, but if we were to start over, we would again go with the shoes. |
