Comments
Comments: Around 8 inches of snow at start. Started out bare booting but quickly changed to snowshoes mainly for traction

Previous snowshoe tracks were wind drifted. Bog bridges on Greeley Pond trail need attention. Ice covered water on stream crossing about 1 tenth of mile in. Use caution to step on solid covering.
The Mt.Osceola Trail going up east Peak is an eroded mess. Lots of rocks protruding through the snow also hidden crusty ice. Snowshoes worked best for traction. Crampons would work, but may be a trip hazard. snow becomes more consolidated from East to Main peak.
Laid out a nice track to main summit. Chimney section is the same eroded mess. Mix bare and protruding rock with snow covered ice.
Great day out with a cold start, but did warm a bit by afternoon.
We changed to light traction for descending the steeps from East Peak and cautiously butt slid sections. be careful not to catch the points on hidden rocks and sticks which will cause some hurt.
Thanks to the young lady who passed us, and broke the trail to East Peak.
Doing these peaks in winter always whips my butt, but I get it done.
