Comments
Comments: A chilly day along with 2-3 ft of snow in pots made it a difficult but enjoyable day. No one had touched the trail since the recent storm. My buddy and I took turns breaking trail about 2.5 miles up past Mt. Surprise to the second set of ledge. We took a break and then tried looking for the trail after others came up (2 snowshoe, 2 spikes only) but could not find it. Everyone turned around, although I offered to join groups and attempt the summit. Still enjoyed a summit beer and rip with good views of presidential range. Plenty of powder so make sure to bring snowshoes and a decent group to finish breaking trail to Moriah.
