Easy to forget Madison is a long day - 1306 feet to 5367 on Madison is about the same difference as Joe Dodge to Mt.W.
The summit cone had its challenges, not enough snow for snowshoes, but enough snow to hide big holes between boulders. Easy to posthole in deep and get a leg stuck.
Cold day, -5F at the trailhead, 0F at the summit. |
