Comments
Comments: we wanted to ascend via the Fire Warden's trail, but after scouting the parking situation at the end of Little River rd, this appears to no longer be an option in winter. "No Trespassing" signs line both sides of the the last tenth of the road. the trail head kiosk has been removed and the turnaround is plastered with "no parking/no trespassing" signs. With snowbanks, parking on the side of the road, is also not viable.

so we parked in the lot on 302 and walked the 2+ miles on Zealand Rd to the Hale Brook trail head. the trail was broken out and we wore snowshoes all day, so there is now a well-defined / packed track up and down. -10 at the 8:30 am start, but no wind made it bearable, snow flurries at the summit and all the way back to the car. -1 at 1:30pm. an overall great day!
