Comments
Comments: Wore snowshoes the entire time. Only one set of snowshoe tracks had headed up to Wildcat A before us. Broke out the trail between Wildcat A and D. Luckily, we saw two guys (with snowshoes) coming from D (they had purchased the uphill pass and did an out and back from the ski area). We did an out and back from Nineteen Mile Brook Trail, so between the peaks are still soft but now broken out. Upon return to Wildcat A, coming down the trail was post holed by hikers not wearing snowshoes. It was a lumpy, ankle twister mess. Hard to understand why people would not want to wear snowshoes when the trail is so soft. Even saw a guy with jeans on (no snowshoes) and street shoes hiking up to A as we were going down?! Nineteen Mile Brook trail is well packed out. Temps were in the negatives, but still a beautiful bluebird winter wonderland day!
