Comments
Comments: It was like a spring day at the lake with bright sun and "normal" temps. The trail is packed and solid to the lake, so either snowshoes or spikes are fine. Snowshoes will be necessary though over the next couple of days as warming continues. Snowpack is deep, so be mindful if stepping off trail.

The section of trail that normally swings around along the shore of the lake has not been touched. Everyone has been going straight across. The lake had some minor drifting but nothing deep. Hi-Cannon, Dodge Cutoff, Around Lonesome Lake and Cascade Brook Trails have all been lightly broken out and will require snowshoes.

Gorgeous views of Franconia Ridge from the lake with the bright sun. This was a needed mental boost today.
