Comments
Comments: This trail is a mess right now. The main section of the trail isn’t awful, but it’s slow going. Lots of bare rock/ice on the steeps made for some tricky descending. Once above the split, Jackson Branch is a postholed shitshow. Somebody really, really, REALLY wanted to get up there this week, and no problem destroying the track to do so. There are a ton of ankle- to knee-deep postholes all the way to the summit. I think I got caught on at least half a dozen of them. I imagine with the freeze having set in that they are going to be quite dangerous for a bit. Summit cone was tricky getting down, as it’s pretty much all rock and ice.
