Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The most significant one on trail was a little tricky, but no issue. We found an easy route a short distance up stream. Off trail, there were several minor crossings and one more major one. There were many spots where we would not have wanted to cross around the Cascade. Higher up, we found very reasonable crossing.

Comments
Comments: We found snowshoes with good traction to be best for this entire route. Surface conditions have changed considerably with firm and supportive surface. Some thin cover higher up. Trail was well packed with minor postholing. Some sections of trail had hidden water running under the snow. The steep section above the cascade had some iceflows, which we did better avoiding on our way back. Even with three of us, using our tracks could be hard due to lack of impression.

From the top of the Cascade trail we walked a short distance west of the Cascade and then uphill to a point where we could cross and start heading east. Going was very steep, but calmed down quickly. We followed a fairly straight course to the recognized highpoint. Much of the woods were very pleasant to walk in. There were a few tight sections, but each was short lived.

Thanks Ozzy and Bill for a good hike.
