Comments
Comments: Theme of the day was to stay dead center on the trails - off a couple inches either side and you could tweak an ankle or sink...and it's just a question of how far. Lonesome Lake and Cascade Brook trails had postholes but generally safe if you stayed in the middle. Less postholes on Fishin' Jimmy and Kinsman Ridge Trails but they are there - again stay in the middle. My snowshoes got a free ride in the back seat as I wore Microspikes the entire day - although you could make an argument for 'shoes in the afternoon on the upper trails when the footbed softened up due to temps and traffic. Lonesome Lake Trail became a touch sticky when descending early afternoon.

Lots of people out today: I passed three groups in addition to maybe two dozen others. On my visits to the peaks in the morning I was greeted with slightly filtered sun and not much wind though the wind seemed to pick a bit as I was leaving the ridge. Overall pretty comfy though.

The hut was bustling with activity today. It was the caretaker's birthday so I wished her a great day!
