While we had to step over open water we were able to make it across all of the crossings on solid ice. |

There were a few larger blowdowns along the Owl’s Head Herd Path that we had to go around. |

Baxter did great. |

Did this one with the random group of hikers. Able to bareboot to Black Pond where we put on snowshoes. There was a group of six ahead of us on the Black Pond Bushwhack - they went left and a little higher while we went right and stayed a little lower. Our paths converged near the end and we came out right at the river crossing. Wore spikes to Brutus Bushwhack were we out on snowshoes. We passed the other group and we laid fresh tracks. We strayed a little high after turning from the gully but corrected our course and came out at the rock. Also corrected the route on the way back down. |
