Comments
Comments: Started with roadwalk to access road south of or to the right of the inn. Tried Hillsounds switched to snowshoes since the access road was not tracked. Headed up access road to the first cottage, missed or somehow got confused and didn't take the White Trail to the Wiggins Rock Trail but stayed on road behind the inn and down to more summer homes and ending up taking another access road to the trail junction of the Red, Blue, Yellow and Wigging Rock (Orange) Trails. Access rod had a nice solid track but we broke out the rest after the inn to the trail junction. The Blue Trail to the summit of Cabot was broken out with a solid base and couple of inches of new snow. A really steep climb just below the summit. Great view from both the actual summit and the view spot.
As redliners we decided to get the Cabot-Ingalls Connector over to the Scudder Trail from the summit of Cabot. Had to break trail through a couple feet of snow at least it was downhill then uphill back. Red Trail from summit was untouched and the lone none-redliner who did not join us on the connector broke trail herself for a good 3/4 mile before we caught up to her. Great little hike with views. Went out Wiggins Rock on the way back and broke that out also. Decided to get the Crow's Nest another day since it didn't look like anyone had been that way for a while.
