Comments
Comments: Snowshoes were best for this entire hike. Some may like traction due to blue ice flows, especially when the ice gets harder. There's significant ice flows the wonolancet range tr., just south of the short cut, and on the west side of the Walden. Lawrence trail showed no sign of recent travel from Kelly to Paugus. I also broke out the WRT from Wonalancet summit to the north end of the short cut. Between Hibbard and Walden is soft with some postholing. Cabin trail had light use. No tracts on walden, headed northeast towards passaconoway. All other trails I used were well packed. Snow was mainly supportive when not packed

I bushwhacked the highpoint of Paugus, from the Lawrance trail just west of the south peak. I have found that staying west facilitates better going. I had good woods with one thicker push. Old jar gone; highpoint is recognized.
