Georg, Old Man and the Saw and I had an easy trip to the Cats today. I used snowshoes on Polecat for comfort, and HHP crampons on the ridge, the others used spikes the whole way up and on the ridge, then bare booted down (we stashed our snowshoes at the bushwhack cut-off to Polecat for the ridge trek). Met only one hiker, JohnC on the ridge, who said he wore snowshoes for the whole trip. |
