the trail was hard packed all the way with the top layer loosened up by the numerous hikers out there today. based on conditions on an earlier hike nearby i opted to just go with spikes, but snowshoes would have worked well too. i did regret not having them for the short bushwhack to the actual highpoint of willard as i did a fair bit of postholing along the way. great views from the ledges and a quick hike back down. |
