Comments
Comments: Snowshoes were the choice for this entire route. The trail was a well packed snowshoe track up until the pond spur. Following this point, those who carried on did not use snowshoes and left some very deep post-holes. It was fairly poor going due to all the frozen post holes. My two-way snowshoe tracks helped a bit.

I continued a very short distance past the Shoal Pond Tr. junction and then began to bushwhack towards the peak. The snow was mainly supportive with the occasional surprise drop, for the entire bushwhack. The woods were mostly open, except for a thick band just north of the main summit. From the recognized highpoint I continued to the south peak, funding good going. Getting the Twintop peak to the north was steep, but doable. Still the orange string up there. I continued to the bigger of the two, where the highpoint is recognized. To avoid any unwanted surprises, I followed my tracks out.

This proved to be a long haul, but a good day to get to these peaks in winter.
