Comments
Comments: derp. well, the plan was to use the Brutus BW up/down, however we missed the turn for the BW and went up the slide, and since a few others followed us, it's well broken out now. ;) we started the slide in snowshoes, but switched to crampons, and wished for ice axes, up the ledge icy bits. kept the crampons on for the descent down brutus BW, where we switched back to spikes. the snow cover on the brutus bw, is getting thin and after today's warm afternoon temps and any refreeze it will be very icy. i don't think crampons would be overkill. all the other trails are packed and spikes are the best choice. we only used shoes for the very short part at the base of the slide. PS: the right hand turn for the brutus bw is about 2mi after the junction of the lincoln brook tr & black pond bw.
