Comments
Comments: A wonderful hike in spring conditions. Got a late start after spending an evening in the woods at a stealth spot. All trails are packed out minimally but fairly solid. Portions of Old Mast trail are unstable monorail, easily breaking through crust but only to a depth of a few inches. The lower end of Walden trail has a couple sketchy drops, take care as they are ice covered and potentially dangerous. I had to lower my brother down with a trekking pole and I butt slid down the ice flow to the snow below. The area could sure use some fresh powder. Got some lovely sunset shots and was able to hike out by moonlight down Old Mast trail.
