Comments
Comments: Light traction would have been sufficient today. I wanted to get back on my tubbs flex and wore them car to car. Overkill with snow shoes on Sandwich MT trail, but the ss traction came in handy on the steep ascent with blue ice--otherwise spikes or hillsounds would have worked. Around 3000 feet there was more snow and the shoes were perfect. There are still alot of rocks and roots exposed.Cold,Sunny day with Gorgeous views and no wind!!!. Saw no one going up until the jct when 3 hikers were heading down. Ran into a group of 6 or 7 ascending Drakes on the way out and ran into 3 casual gridders at the last crossing of Drakes brook where we found a safe spot to cross together, and walked out with these 3 friendly hikers :)THINK SNOW. Great Little lower elevation loop hike for Cold weather, Great dose of sunshine today !
