Comments: Lincoln woods, black pond bushwhack (high), lincoln brook, Brutus bushwhack, owls head path

lincoln woods is a highway. from black pond i went high for the bushwhack just because thats what I've always done. once to lincoln brook we put on snowshoes and did not take them off till back at black pond. we re-broke trail up Brutus and the Owls head path on the summit ridge was very difficult to follow. lots of large snowdrifts and deep powder. snowshoes were a must up here. made it to the summit and noticed a large tree was down where the summit cairn usually is. i searched around and found a small new cairn next to the tree on the right buried in the snow. On our way out we ran into a solo hiker on the ridge who followed my path the whole way and once down off the steep part of Brutus that i broke out we ran into a group of 6 led by a gentlemen who has hiked owls head more times than he can probably remember. they stayed straight up the Gully, so you have your choice now on which way to go. The steeper more direct approach i took or the much wiser approach he led. haha. No issues on the way out and Gaia had us at 7:49. Ryan, Christina, and Vaya
