Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a pair of black and gray gloves with a blue rim around the wrist, frozen into a weird shape, many yards apart on the lower part of the Mt. Major trail. I left them at the Mt. Major trail sign, rubberbanded inside some crampons that had also been attached to the sign's crosspost. There was a large amount of other equipment left there.

Comments
Comments: Mt. Major trail was covered in sheets of smooth ice with small amounts of unpacked powdered snow on top. Some parts of the trail required very careful negotiation. I do not recommend bringing beginners. No snowdrifts and only a few post-holes, well off to the side. The Brook Trail was much gentler with a packed trail much of the way. I brought snowshoes but didn't bother to put them on, relying instead on microspikes. Actual crampons may have been useful.
