Trail Maintenance Notes: No blowdowns along route. Trails in the trees all well blazed with metal discs of various shapes on trees. Blazing above treeline on rocks was generally not visible under the snow except for a few windblown areas.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw no dogs although most trails would have been OK. Lot of ice hiding under the fresh snow though so caution advised.

Comments
Comments: Fantastic day out. Blue skies and fresh snow pretty much everywhere. Other than White Arrow, every trail I did had not been touched and had 3-6 inches of fresh snow with some drifting here and there. Felt like some granular crunchy spots under the snow in places and some ice but for the most part it was fresh powder on rock. White Arrow had much more foot traffic and was chewed up snow hiding quite a bit of gray ice. Were some fairly long ice bulges just before treeline but the ice was very soft and easy to grip. The summit cone was a mixed bag of trampled powder, some drifts as high as knee deep and bare rock. Wore crampons all day (except Old Toll Road - bare boots fine). Seemed like the right call and probably 75% of people I saw were in full crampons or trail crampons. Was tedious in places on the summit cone with all the bare rock though. Fantastic day overall. Monadnock always manages to deliver that "big mountain" feel despite its small size.
