Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking area at end of Little River Road with about four cars when we finished. Do not park at end of road in turnaround and make sure not to wear MicroSpikes/Snowshoes when crossing the bridge. There are No Trespassing signs on both sides of the road but the bridge itself is not posted. After crossing the bridge, there is a sign with an arrow pointed left that says TRAIL which is the traditional approach. That said, with 100 feet a sign on a tree says PRIVATE PROPERTY. In our opinion, the owner is OK with access but does not want people to meander up the driveway or around the property.

Comments
Comments: The herd path and trails were all well packed with 3 inches up top to start with up to 6 inches further up. Trails were easy to find including Firewardens trail. Four of us wore snowshoes the entire day. We saw a couple doing the same hike also wearing snowshoes. Did not see any track continuing up to the Twins. The birch forest in the sun was gorgeous! Did not see any ski tracks...would require some tight turns on the descent! It was 13 degrees on the summit with 3 degrees wind chill. Nice way to get to Hale.
