| Comments: |
Manning Tr has thick black/blue ice under 1-3 inches of snow. I used microspikes and was able to bypass a few bad spots. I would recommend crampons to be safe. Very slippery trail, that morning a moose fell on some black ice on the manning tr. On top there were snow drifts up to three feet deep. There was black ice under 2-4 inches of snow from the ranger's cabin to PJ Ledge. Very windy, no great views today with a cloud producing light snow for most of the morning. |
