Parking area is not plowed and there's no safe parking on the side of the road. I shoveled out enough room to back in my truck, but the lip would be enough to bottom out a car. |

Rattlesnake Mountain in Rumney.
Snow was very soft at sunset today, following the warm temperatures and a passing shower. The upper portion of the trail is not well packed. The lower portion of the trail has some postholes kindly installed by a barebooter, some of which were deep. I wore snowshoes roundtrip and would do so again, even if the snow were to set up. There were a few small patches of blue ice. Snowpack is maybe a foot to a foot and a half down low, and two to three feet deep up high. |
