Comments
Comments: A quick warm-up hike to Imp face, with a late start - 11am. Was only person on trails until "summit", where I met a group of 4 coming up from South Imp Tr. Started with snow shoes but quickly rethought that due to ice-flow. Switched to Hillsound Trail-Pro's. Down low trail alternated between solid Ice and hard-packed snow, then after 1900 ft or so became all hard-packed snow. Could have switched back to snow shoes but not necessary. Kept crampons on. No post-holing, so my shoes got a free ride for rest of day. Fabulous views and warm low wind conditions! Great to be back in the Whites! Cabot tomorrow with my sister (who is working on her 48).
