Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: we drove in via new greenough pond road north of errol from rt 16, which is being plowed for logging operations this winter, for about 9 miles to its junction with corser brook road (snowmo corridor in winter). we continued on shared road/corridor down to the big junction with corser, greenough and four mile brook roads and parked near some logging equipment. the road in had crusty snow over ice and the driving was ok with awd and care. tire chains were a nice bit of extra security, but they were probably not necessary today. they don't appear to be hauling over the weekends as this was our second trip in on a saturday and we haven't seen any signs of large truck travel.

Comments
Comments: from where we parked we walked west a couple minutes on greenough pond road and turned off on an atv trail heading towards the peak. snowmos had ridden the trail and packed it down a bit. when we reached the base of a large cut we turned west on a road that wound up nicely towards a shoulder west of the peak. a little breakable crust sinking maybe 6 inches on average with deeper breaking in sections. higher up we moved out into a large cut and climbed up into mostly open woods to the shoulder. we then turned east towards the summit and had mostly open woods with some deeper snow to the highpoint. we relocated the summit register from a lower bump to the actual highpoint of the mountain. ignore the "x". we descended in our tracks enjoying some nice views from the large clear cuts.
