The large lot was plowed with some ice remaining. There is a wooden latrine available.
First-timers, plug "Liberty Spring Trailhead Parking," NOT "Liberty Spring Trailhead" into your GPS. They are not the same thing. And it's on Route 3, not I-93. |

Some ice melted on the streams, but the rocks were stable and provided good traction. |

I brought my snowshoes but did not need them. Microspikes were enough The trail was packed and firm with a few places steep and smooth enough to butt-slide on the way back down. You're in the trees almost all the way to the summit, so even if the wind had been higher, most of the hike still would have been feasible. |
