Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked at the outlook just east of Kanc pass off of Rt. 112. It was well plowed. Plan A was to go up from the 'horseshoe,' but there was no reasonable parking.

Comments
Comments: Snow: Powder on top was between two and eight inches. Snow underneath was mainly consolidated with a bit of give, soft spots, and shiftiness. I sunk anywhere from half a foot to a foot, save for higher up where I hit a few spruce traps.

Woods: The woods were never wide open for long, but only occasionally really bad. Lots of tight match-stick woods and thick spruce/fur. Just tight, but almost always manageable. The only really challenging spot was the push up to the summit, where there was tight, thick, woods, with lots of dead stuff. That part was short though. For a peak that is known for tough going, I'd call this route a winner.

Route: Starting at the overlook, I headed northeast, skiring to the east of the small bump north of the pass. I followed this small ridge, eventually slabing east towards the col. I hit the main ridge west of the col and headed straight for the peak. I got a very nice view as I thrashed up the final pitch. Highpoint is recognized as expected. I followed my tracks out.
