Well 11 of us went out to at least get to madison hut as the weather didnt look the greatest. We would assess when we got there and if good weather try for adams and then back to madison. Well as our speeds vary we had 2 groups and scattered when we got closer to the hut to stay warm. 3 of our groupd got to the hut and due to a cold dog, dog hands/feet, and the weather they turned around. They told me the rest are hanginf out and waiting til the rest of us got there. We made it to the hut which had clouds around it. Well the wind was strong, we thought of adams as a no go. Well we made the decision to try madison. 7 of us went for it while 1 hung back at the hut. Well it was a great choice as the sun ended up showing itself multiple times, gave us some undercast, and we made it! We were getting knocked over by the gusts. We sat up there for a little ans then headed down the ridge which the wind was coming from randolf. We made it back to the hut. 2-3 of the guys went to check out star lake trail to see if doable due to the wind coming from the other side. Well they said they went in to their hips from the drifts that came over that side. All in all great day with some great people! Adams for another day |
