Made excellent time from trailhead to Red Ridge junction. Still good time through first road crossing, but trail was not broken beyond there.
Microspikes up to 1800' and then switched to snowshoes. Slow going as it got deep and steep. Stopped for lunch at 4.3mi/2600ft and decided it was better to turn back if the conditions were going to continue being challenging. Returned via Red Ridge. Lots of people out at Diana's Bath on a Monday during school vacation week.
Great visibility and a great day for a hike. |
