Great day out with Gino and Beth. Quad was not running in AM and much of the ski trail route up was closed so NO skiers on ascent. We wore shoes for the televators. Some behind us that went to D were in spikes. Trail from D to A was mostly unconsolidated and we wore shoes the whole way. Spikes would have not been enough to easily walk as the snow was too soft (not so much for post holing but for ease of walking). Tried to hit bush whack to avoid D on return but went in about 100 feet too high. Put on spikes for descent of ski trails. More skiers (quad was running) though still lots of trails closed. Ice under the unpacked snow was "fun" to say the least with spikes. Near perfect weather conditions. |
