Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water levels are borderline for making crossing interesting. I suspect with warmer weather they will only get higher. There is an established herd path to avoid all but 1 crossing of the Little River. We crossed 3 times on the way up and followed the herd path on the way out. We placed a log about 30 yards up from the first crossing and made it across fine. The second was easy to hop and the 3rd we placed another log to aid our crossing.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Numerous blowdowns. Most are duck-under or work arounds. We cleared a few smaller ones on the steeper sections heading up North Twin.

Comments
Comments: Did an overnight trip to break up some of the mileage and to have a night under the stars hanging in hammocks. A lot of dead birches throughout the area made for difficult site selection. Trail was in great condition, wore spikes all the way to the last brook crossing and switched to snowshoes solely for use of televators and to pack what little drifting was up there. Also to drop some pack weight as we were carrying full overnight kits. Many blow-downs but none to impede travel or route finding. If hiking in warmer temps I would suggest snowshoes as there is still plenty of deep snow in higher elevations and post-holing would be an issue. Ice flows are starting and with more warm weather and refreeze on the way I'd expect them to grow. Spectacular weather with minimal winds led to plenty of time to take in the views.
