| Comments: |
Perfect day for a hike up to Hayes from this approach. We opted for microspikes and did not regret it as parts of the trail had spring like conditions with open areas and softening snow. They came in handy in the ledgy spots where there was a layer of ice beneath the snow. Postholed once in a great while but snowshoes would have been a hassle in many areas. What a great trail for accessing Mt. Hayes in the winter. |
