Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Bald land lacked a sign near the height of land. When headed east, it is a right turn to a marked forest road near the height of land and headed down. A few limbed leaners on East Branch

Comments
Comments: Snow was supportive, save for brief sections on the bushwhacks and the trail walk out when the snow had softened. On trail the crust broke and we sunk no more than six inches. Significant bare sections on the southwest slopes of Chandler and W. Baldface.

Woods were wide open everywhere except a few tighter sections on W. Baldface and near the river.

We walked in on the Bald Land Trail, and along the spur. We followed the road to the parking for E. Branch and launched a bushwhack up the southwest slope of Chandler. From the recognized highpoint we headed down the northwest slope, aimed for Black. We crossed the river and the trail and headed up the Black Brook drainage to Black. From the recognized highpoint, we worked our way to the Black/ W. Baldface col, making sure not to drop too low. We headed straight for W. Baldface, passing a false peak and continuing to the recognized highpoint. We dropped off the southwest slope to the E. Branch trail and followed that out to the road, returning on the Bald Land.
`
With the many zig-zags, this route was about 18.4 mi. If one were to do it, using out and back bushwhacks in their tracks, the distance would be considerably more.

Great to team up with Bill Cronin for this one.
