Comments
Comments: Valley Way was in good shape. Packed snow down low and some unpacked higher up, but we did fine in Hillsounds. There are a few areas of ice and some of boilerplate that had a light coating of snow over top - use caution. There are some bushwhacks around those areas. Gulfside was in good condition. The day was hazy so we took our time navigating. The cairns were much easier to see on the descent. Airline was much the same. Hillsounds offered good traction on the icy/snow covered rocks. Again, the haze made navigation more challenging but the descent was much easier. We switched to crampons back at the hut for the descent due to the hidden ice and were grateful for the extra traction.
