Everything was unbroken when I arrived. I was sinking anywhere from 8" to knee depth, with the deepest stuff being up on Parker. I used snowshoes with flotation tails the entire way. Fairly challenging, but doable breaking. The route was much easier to follow in snow cover than I would have expected. I was able to pick the corridor with relative ease, even on the switchbacks up Parker. I made one brief digression from the trail, which I corrected on the way out.
When I got back to the Cave path, I found that it had been packed out while I was out, so I headed up. The packed trail took me up to the Cave and the ledge. I then bushwhacked to the highpoint of Cave Mtn.; not too much to see. When I returned to the Langdon Trail, I noted that tracks headed down the trail while I was on Cave. |
