Comments
Comments: Am a day late in filing this report since it just NOW occurred to me today that MAYBE there might be some interest in trail conditions by folks who enjoy Nordic skiing and snowshoeing along the un-groomed XC-ski trails of the WMNF.

Anyway, the Flat Iron XC-ski trail off Zealand Road was broken out, as of 16-Mar-2018. HOWEVER, there is a cautionary note as follows. As you are skiing the trail clockwise, you soon come to a spot where the trail heads off to the left into the woods. If you follow that blue-diamond blazed corridor, you will encounter several downed trees. It’s better to bear right and follow an alternate route through a field which will eventually rejoin the actual Flat Iron XC-Trail.

While in the ‘neighborhood’, I took a look at the nearby Spruce Goose XC-trail and it had NOT been skied. With a snow-depth of about 18-inches, it could be difficult to break out the trail, but it certainly could be done, especially with a group effort.
