One half of the loop was nicely packed down and we hiked up with microspikes no problem. Once we got to the summit a group of 8 of us broke trail with snowshoes so the whole loop is broken out. A couple followed us in microspikes. While the 2nd half is doable in microspikes I would likely recommend snowshoes because the snow was quite soft. At one of the ledges we had trouble finding the trail and bushwacked a few steps and found the yellow blazes again. Our trail shouldn't be difficult to find there though. It was a lovely day with a lot of snow and a lot of sliding in snowshoes as we descended. |
